<p>I am the first in my immediate family to go to college. I was born in America but my first language is not English. </p>

Honors class at a local High School
grade (W) :81.59
(UW) :79.80
Year: 1st semester/ 2nd semester
Freshman:86/84
Sophmore:80/78
Junior:76/83
Senior:86ish</p>

<p>Rank: 97/360
SAT: 1020 Will be retaking on Saturday
Senior Year: AP Spanish, AP English, Pre-calc, AP Global, AP American, Marine Science, Issues in Science (College class), Psychology 100 (college class)</p>

<p>EC:
Track 2 yrs (shot put captain)
Robotics team 1 year (treasurer)
Tennis team Spring 2002
Handball team Spring 2001
Volunteer 400 hours at a local clinic (Also worked there afterwards)
Step Team spring 2003
International Dummers Spring 2003-2004</p>

<p>During sophmore and Junior year my grades plummeted to a 67 it took much work to bring it back to even a 78. My dad had clinical depression and other health problems and was going through divorce with my mom. </p>

<p>Anything I can do to improve my chances?</p>

<p>I have a 88 right now but 90 atleast by the end of the semester</p>

<p>you are below avg for everything at stony brook (SAT, gpa), but if you get your SAT to 1150-1200, then i think you will have a much better shot. Your gpa is below avg, but if you can raise that a bit, you will get in w/an SAT score of like a 1200</p>
