Chances at SUNYs

Hi! I’m a senior from Long Island, and I want to do biochemistry or just general biology in college because I’d like to go into medicine in the future. I have a 3.3 GPA, and my SAT is 1910. I want to know my chances at the following schools:

SUNY Oswego
SUNY Buffalo State
SUNY Uni at Buffalo
SUNY Geneseo

I am interested in other SUNYs as well but there’s a lot less information about them circulating in terms of how good their science programs are, and my guidance counselor is of no help. Any takers?

Google Collegedata.com and view the admissions data for each school. They will display the middle 50% for enrolled students.

You want your scores to be near or above the 75th percentile, meaning you are a top applicant and should be admitted. And when you look at GPA you want to be in the top group of students…

Well it depends on rigor and EC. What were your SAT grades broken down?

For SUNY Geneseo, it is very slim. I hate to say but it is considered one the “SUNY Ivy’s” accepting kids way above your mark. Buffalo State is definitely a good fit. Oswego looks fair as well. SUNY Uni at Buffalo would be on the fence. If you had got EC and depending on your SAT you may stand a chance.
