Chances at the following colleges? (Cali + East Coast)

<p>I have begun to narrow down my list of colleges I’m looking at (but I’m welcome to suggestions if you can suggest places around my expertise level). These are my scores/activites currently (although I plan to retake the actual SATs in October) as a high school soon-to-be senior:</p>

<p>Half Asian/Half White</p>

<p>My GPA is at a weighted 4.1 with the highest possible score in my schools system being ~4.85 in a pretty competitive school.</p>

<p>The schools I’m curious about acceptance and that I’m looking at include:</p>

UC:SB
UC:LA
UCONN
Cornell
NYU
UNC: Chapel Hill
Northeastern</p>

<p>Again, any other suggestions for colleges I should look into are welcome, location isn’t a huge problem (financial aid is helpful though =]). Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>Also a question about eligibility by examination alone if anyone is familiar with that: Does this mean that with high enough SAT/SAT2 scores etc. then I do not need the full “A-G” requirements? To specify, I do not have one year of music/arts as stated is necessary and from what I understand, with eligibility by examination is that I do not need to take this one year course (seeing as very few of this nature are offered at the school I attend) supposing I meet the requirement for this program?</p>

<p>Where do you live? Many of the colleges you listed accept a lot from certain areas. Also, your scores are kinda low for a lot of the colleges. Your ECs are pretty good though</p>

The UCs might be reaches if you’re not in cali</p>

<p>If you got into the UCs, it would be $45K plus with little chance for any aid accept for any Federal money you may qualify for. And good chance it will take more than 4 years to graduate so it could be more expensive than any private college. With CA’s budget crisis really effecting these schools it may not be the best way to go.</p>

<p>Other than Cornell, you’ve chosen schools not good with aid. Schools like NYU and BU reserve it for their very top candidates.</p>

<p>Your class rank would be necessary to really assess your situation, but the CR score will be an issue. Have you tried the ACT?</p>
