Chances at these schools (international student)?

Hi all,

What are the chances at getting into these schools with the below stats?

Schools: Haverford, Davidson, Case Western, Trinity, UMich, Macalester, Emory, Vassar, UNC Chapel Hill, Georgia Tech

Stats:
International Student (Asian, but studying at United World College, Armenia)
SAT I - 1540
SAT II - 730 (chem, math)
IB - 34
Ok ECs
Little to no Financial need
Looking to study pre-med or engineering

I’m having trouble finding clear answers about acceptance rates as an international student, which makes it difficult to determine where these schools place in reach/match/safety categories. Any help is appreciated!

Bring up the SAT 2 scores. 730 on Math (if its level 2) is especially weak for schools like Georgia Tech or UMich. SAT is not too bad so depending on your ECs (and I’m assuming your grades are good), you should be fine for most of these schools, especially if you don’t have financial need.

I’m afraid I have bad news all around…
The problem isn’t the 730, which is fine.
The problem is the IB 34, which won’t fly for most of the schools you listed.

In addition, most universities on your list don’t offer engineering at all. You could study Physics, or go for a 3+2.
What are your 6 subjects?
But there’s no LAC on your list where a 34 is sufficient (is it 45+27 or 46+25? Or does that number online the EE and TOK?) - in any case pick 2 of them for reaches (Macalester? Trinity? I think they like UWC applicants.) Just in case.
Case Western is the only university on this list that makes sense. You have to go back to your Fiske guide and look for less selective universities.
And the bad news isn’t over, alas…you can’t be pre-med as an international because US med schools don’t admit internationals.
