Essays: I had 3 on Common App, all revised versions of what I wrote for Questbridge.
1st: Focused on being the oldest of 7, my TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), and relocation (longest essay, but brings out the most information on myself).
2nd: Deeper look into the TBI I suffered sophomore year and how recovering from it made me a stronger person. (probably my best essay)
3rd: Living between two worlds as a Somali American.
Residency: Northern Virginia

I know my stats aren’t the strongest, but I can’t help feeling that my situation with the brain injury, being the oldest of 7, being the first in my family to go to college, being Somali American (diversity), and moving junior year (which can help explain a decline in grades) gives me some hope that I have a shot. For schools like the Ivies/Stanford should I just be expecting a denial or is there some hope that I’ll get in? For UVA or William & Mary (in-state, but top schools) am I a 50/50 or long reach? Well don’t afraid to be honest, but please be gentle. I just want an outside voice on what the reality of my situation is. Well to anyone who does respond, thanks!!!
