Will not be applying to an engineering major because I have found out that after four years in my school’s engineering academy that engineering is not for me.
Thanks!

You can only list five extracurriculars on your UC application. Your stats are on the low side for Berkeley. What’s your intended major?

Are you in the top 9% of your class, and therefore qualified for UC admission under “local context” policy? What is your UC-weighted GPA? I suspect it’s pretty high. Berkeley might be a stretch, but you should have no difficulty getting into some UCs.

I definitely know which five I will be listing, I just pasted in everything I had on my internship resume. My intended major is political science, I am in the top 9% of my class, top 1% specifically. If I calculated it right my UC GPA is 4.18.

Your test stats are too low for Berkeley and remember that Berkeley is super competitive, so your scores have to be up there- 2200+ and ACT over 32. For the Key Club, just list Key Club. They know what it is-it’s “padding” if you list every little position. Same thing for CSF and NHS. (All of the California kids have these honor clubs in their resume. Honor chain is common too) Emphasize the things that make you stand out from the traditional “academic” clubs like sports and work.
The UC’s don’t use affirmative action so listing Hispanic ain’t gonna help.

Actual result: Admitted to Cal, UCLA, and USC without following advice in this thread.
