-Outstanding Musician Award (Only two musicians get it at school)
-Marching Band (all four years- Mentor one year section leader another year… my school has one of the top bands in California) (4 years)
-Wind Ensemble (Grammy Recognized as one of top bands in U.S.) (4 years)
-School Orchestra (1 year)

Personal Statements:
Essay 1 - Talked about how my grandparents died my sophomore/junior year and it affected me emotionally. Played Taps at Grandpa’s funeral and played jazz music at old folks homes as a rememberance of my grandpa.

Essay 2- Talked about my experience in high school through the band program. I really have both a talent and a passion for music and it is something I want to continue throughout college (just not as a major).

Thanks for any chances. I know my GPA and SATs may be low, but I feel like I did what they asked for which is challenge myself in high school. I took a very hard courseload and participated in band year long.

-Thanks again!

Bump - Please reply if your good with the UC’s. I know these threads are silly but still :)

UCI might be a slight reach, but UCR and UCSC look fine.

you need 2 sat iis

Oh sorry left those out.

570 Math 2
480 U.S. History - (Took U.S. history during summer so I did not have that much info on it)

Thanks for the thoughts sheer. Anyone know about SDSU? How much priority do i get for being in the priority district? Thanks everyone!

Being 3.0+ GPA should make you a shoe-in for all CSUs, as well as UCR and UCSC. Irvine/Davis will be a bit harder to get in, though.

I think you’re in all, but UCD and UCI are questionable.

However, UC’s like all rounded people, so I’m not sure.

im from california… ur pretty set for riverside and ucsc, sdsu. davis and irvine will be a little tough for you

the stats are similar to the thousands that apply every year though…

Thanks for the replies everyone. I really appreciate the input.

Any realistic percentages? I know it is hard to say but like what am I looking at for UCR UCSC and SDSU? UCD and UCI?

Thanks again CC’ers :D
