I go to a very competitive high school, I know I'm not in the top 10th percentile but I am pretty sure I am at least above the 50th percentile haha.

Extracurriculars
California Scholarship Federation 10-12
Make A Difference Club 10-12 (club representative in 12)
Red Cross Club 11-maybe 12
Spirit Committee 11
Not much, I know :(

I want to major in linguistics, political science, or international relations.

I am Asian, and first generation to attend college.

Thank you!

Berkeley and LA will be difficult. UCSD is possible. Probably get in to Irvine/Santa Cruz/Davis, I'd imagine.

How great are my chances at getting into Irvine, Davis and Santa Cruz?
I dont know if I should apply to some CSUs for backup.

Always apply to somewhere for backup. Always. :)

are you a transfer student or freshmen ??

Graduating high school in 2008!
Freshman. Do I sound like a transfer?

Is there anyone on here that goes to a UC??

For in-state, I think you have very solid chances at getting into at least one of the UCs. UC Davis has a good international relations program.

the UC brochure says
all UC-eligible cali residents who apply on time will be offered admission at one of the university's 9 campuses
so i guess i am guaranteed to get into at least one. and i guess i dont need to apply to more schools/CSUs for backup.

Berkeley/UCLA: reach
UCSD: slight reach
UCI/UCD: match
UCSC: safe match

Any other opinions??

you can take a test IN a date...mind-bottling, like when your mind is trapped, like in a bottle

on topic, i think everything necessary has already been said

ps I hate CR as much as you do

i started off typing november thinking i couldnt remember the date but i did and i left it like that.

english is my second language. dont hate.

ur gpa and sat scores are low for ucla and ucb, possibly ucsd, but others schools are definitely matches.

so i just found out that i'm in the 15th percentile (based on unweighted gpa), and in the 30th percentile (based on weighted gpa) of the graduating class at my school. will this help me?

(there are about 600 students in my class.)

UPDATE:
Davis Accepted
Santa Cruz Accepted
San Diego Accepted

havent heard from the rest

Congrats! Which is your first choice?
