whoa…your SAT’s are extremely LOW! Which is confusing since your GPa is really high…I thin UCSd will be a big reach because of your SAt. Improve your SAT’s to about 2000 and you will get anywhere

Is there a major grade inflation at your school or something? Your very high gpa doesn’t correlate with your very low SAT. If you really want to improve your SAT, do a lot of practice tests. That worked for me.

How many points did your SAT went up?

Well, if you do practice, your score is certain to go up from where it is right now. Not to sound discouraging, but the UCSD avg score was around 1300 last year on the old sat…that’s what, a 1950 (1300 + 1300/2, dunno if this is a correct conversion) on the new one? Doing practice exams will certainly help you out.

:)

After doing about 4-5 practice tests, my actual score on the SAT was about 300 points higher than my lowest score on the practice tests.

is 1930 really low for ucsd???

it’s probably close to the 50th %ile considering the average conversion…

:)

I can understand that you may feel concerned about your chances. But I know alot of people that have been able to get into UCSD and even LA with so so test scores. My strongest suggestion I can give is that make sure that your essays stand out from everybody else’s. Retake the test if possible and make sure that you at least score 600 in each sections. I know alot of people get in to UCSD on GPA and really good math scores but their SAT verbal score was below 600. (Average was a 580 for the middle 50%) So don’t give up. I know alot of bright students that have a 4.6 gpa and score bad on SATs but have amazing ec and community service and have been able to get into cal and LA.

Dream Big and you will make it.

Lets not forget folks, the strongest correlation to your SAT scores have been family income and many admission officers are aware of this because I spoke to an UCSD officer on Tuesday.

Daniel’s right. You’re stats are actually a lot better than I know some people getting into UCSD with.

Thank you for the comment!!!

i wish we could merge… my gpa is 3.7W and my sat is 2050 (gonna get 2200+ this time though, hopefully!!)
