^ that’s the first time I’ve taken it (in Feb) I’m hoping to improve, I’m shooting for a 29… unrealistic? I was both proud and dissapointed in my scores, it’s low… but I went up from a 21.

Sorry this is so long!

Thank you to any replies!

For UIUC, you have a fairly good chance. Just make sure to apply by the early deadline. Your ACT for LAS is just a hair low but nothing odd. For UIC, you should have no problems. If you raise your ACT to 28, you’ll have a good shot at their Honors program.

“What are UPenn and Brown known for? Med school, economics? Just curious.”

UPenn and Brown are very different schools. They are both members of the Ivy League, and considered amongst the top schools in the country. For e.g. UPenn is currently ranked #5, and Brown #15 for overall undergrad by US News.

Departments are very strong across the board at both schools, there is no such thing as a ‘mediocre’ department at either. This is made possible by their heavy endowments.

Particular strengths for UPenn: Medicine (#3), Business (#3); Communications and Public Policy (#1); Law (#6) Nursing (#1); Dental Medicine, Vet School, Design (top 5), Arts and Sciences (top 10: especially strong in the life sciences, history, english, anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, languages and regional studies); Bioengineering (top 5) and Nanotechnology (#1)

Brown is well regarded for general liberal arts at the undergrad level, and offering unique majors such as Egyptology. Their graduate programs are small, and not very highly ranked.

Thank you. Anyone else on my chances at the other schools?

SATs? Have you taken them? What about SATIIs? APs? You have to give more info, or we can’t tell you

I will take the SATs in June and probably again in September.
