Proposed Major: (double major) International Relations and Theatre

Before you read: I go to a very rural public school in NC that offers next to no APs, no test prep, and has a high drop out rate, if that matters at all. To make up for APs, I have taken several dual-enrollment classes

I’m a rising senior

Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 1750 (CR: 670 M: 430 (I know.) W: 650 E: 10) (Single Time, I will retake in the fall to try and raise my scores. I have done extensive math prep and hope to raise my math score by at least 150 points, as well as a possible raise on my CR and W)
ACT: 28 (again, if I raise the math I will be upwards of 30)
SAT II: N/A (I will take United States History and Literature)
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.88
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): top 10
AP (place score in parenthesis): Pending Score: US History (my school only offers 4 AP classes, and this is the only one available to non-seniors)
IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
Senior Year Course Load: AP English Literature, AP US Gov, AP Human Geo, Dual Enrollment Statistics, Honors Anatomy
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): N/A
Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
-Student Government Association (Ive been president of my class since freshmen year, I will most likely be Student Body Pres next year)
-Drama Club (Co-Founder, President)
-DECA (Reporter, VP, Pres. District and state champion, national competitor)
-National Honors Society
-Junior Achievement (winner of regional essay contest, published by their organization)

Non School Related Extracurriculars:
- Theatre (performed in community theatres and professionally for 10 years)

Job/Work Experience:
-Camp Counselor at a youth theatre camp
-High School Intern with a Duke Engage program

Volunteer/Community service:
-Volunteer work with various clubs (almost 300 hours)

Essays: Should be great. Im working on my common app essay and will work on the UNC supplement with the Duke graduate students Im working with this summer.
Teacher Recommendation: Should be very strong
Counselor Rec: I think that it will be great, I am really engaged with my school
Additional Rec: Im hoping that the program director for my Duke-sponsored internship this summer will write a recommendation for me.
Other
State (if domestic applicant): NC
Country (if international applicant):
School Type: Very rural, small, public high school
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Female
Income Bracket: Single parent: 40k, Combined: 70-80K
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): I have legacy at UNC.

But to me, everything looks good except the standardized test scores. My advice to you would be to either focus on the SAT or the ACT, NOT BOTH. That way, your focus is only on one exam, and you’ll get better results because of the extra concentration.
