Brown (top choice! and probably also the biggest reach)–Match to slight Reach (you have a really good shot here since you match their profile closely)
P.S. I applied and was accepted to Brown, but couldn’t afford to go–so good luck to you (my stats were 3.96 UW GPA, but SAT only 1440/1600–but my SAT IIs were 800/800/710, president of two clubs, and ran cross-country track at my school)

Amherst–Match, if you apply for the environmental science major
Cornell–Match
Pomona–Slight Reach
Bowdoin–Match to Slight Reach (closer to Match)
Northwestern–Match to Slight Reach
Claremont McKenna–Slight Reach
USC–Safe Match
Whitman–don’t know
Northeastern–Safety
Sewanee–don’t know
University of Washington (in-state)–Safe Match

Applying for an environmental science major at Amherst won’t help that much, possibly not at all. I don’t even know if the application asks for intended major - they are a liberal arts schools.

u have an ok shot- wouldn’t bet on brown, but its ok- you wouldn’t be near if it wasn’t for your unique field
go into forestry and its almost a garunteed entry

yeah i actually thought it’d be harder to get into Amherst than it would be for Northwestern.

What about Wesleyan? Someone mentioned the school a couple of posts back and after some searching I think I might really like it there. Do I have a chance at Wesleyan?

And thanks for alll your help so far :)

Amherst is generally more selective than Northwestern. Wesleyan would be a good pick for you.

:) you remind me of a hybrid of two of my friends.

I would check out Connecticut College and Whitman. I think that you would have a great shot at Pomona. Unlike other people, you seem genuine and actually passionate! Props to you.

^ Haha that’s the nicest compliment I’ve gotten in a while. And thanks for the advice, I’m checking out Connecticut College right now.

Visit Oberlin College (Full of tree huggers). They have an environmental science building that has a sewage treatment room that is just special plants that suck up all the poo. They said its safe to drink, but thats against the law… It also had a large collection of solar panels.

I think it would be a good match for you. Also, Reed college seems like a good fit.

Oberlin College, got it. Haha the plants/poo room actualy sounds really cool, but I’d still be hesitant to drink it! Thanks for the suggestion :)
