So what are my chances?

I give you credit for the fact you wrote out all your ECs, I myself have no patience for it so rock on. Anyways, you should get into the SUNYs and you have a pretty good shot at NYU and BU although your SATs are a little low (you and I are in the same boat with that). I don’t know much about the other schools. Good luck though!

O yea to add: My dad went to NYU, if that helps…
and from all of my high school years ALL classes were Honors classes, except for my electives, and english ( 1 year AP though). I am also 1st chair violinist played for about (9 yearsish) anything else to add? I dont know…maybe if i think of it ill add

bump^bump^

double bump bump comon there are over 200 views and only 1 person can reply?

I think there are so many views and so few responses because once they see the hugely long post they ignore it…

BUT, I think that your SATs may be a big problem at Cornell, NYU, and BU. The rest I can’t really speak for because I don’t know a ton about. Remember that schools only want to see the best of the best of your ECs and not a laundry list of every single one. I am by no means bashing you but I was really surprised when I had to start filling out applications and leave off literally half of my ECs. Including a resume is an option but a debated option.

Yea I know they say mention your like top EC’s, i think i picked Volunteer, community service, pit orchestra, … I included my resume to almost all the colleges i applied to only cause i want to show i am in more than just 6 Ec’s at school so the have a better understanding of what i do…

Who’s Who, You’re a shoo-in.

WahooCavilier was trying to be funny…

Who’s Who really shouldn’t be listed as an EC or an award because everybody gets it and there really isn’t any distinction.

ur scores are too low, but your ECs look good. rifle is something unique you should emphasize.

10-20% shot at cornell

good luck!

so who’s who is worthless?
ahh
thanks for the cornell chances - i kinda figured it was low, but its a reach for a reason …what about my other colleges

bumpbumpbumpbumpbumpbumpbumpbumpbumpbump

“think you’re cheatizzle on this onizzle! 3/4th of those ECizzles don’t count–why are you pretending you’ve done so much, my dadizzle is the deanizzle of Harvardizzle! Go Texans in Cambridge! I love Pres. Bush ~_~”

■■■?

Good chances at all except Cornell because of your test scores

Well, here. I just got into Penn State and here are my stats:

ACT: 32
SAT 2’s (not required at Penn state): 780 Math 2c, 720 Writing, 710 World History
GPA: 3.43 (UW)
Over 20 honors and AP Classes
AP Grades:
US History-5
English-4
National Merit Commended Student
President of Model United Nations
Varsity Indoor Track
Mohawk Field Hockey Club
French Tutoring
Language Exam Awards
NYS Scholarship

I’m Indian and live in New York too, but I’m a girl.

I think your stats are good enough for Penn State. You might want to get your SAT up a little, cuz you’re right on the cusp.

Thanks for the info on penn state natalya…
I understand my chances Cornell are low because of the Test scores but what is my shot? I mean am i completely rejected or do i have that possibility i can become a cornell student…?
what are my chances for the other colleges as well?

what are my chances for the other colleges as well?

bumpity bump ^_^

I don’t think you’ll get into Cornell. Also that massive list of ECs is worthless. Dump the junk, emphasize stuff you actually did and continued with for a while.
