bc with a 3.33 from Wellesley after one year and a 4.29 from high school (ranked 5th in class)…minority too if that helps

Thats tough, I know my dean has stated its sometimes easier to transfer into BC, but that GPA alone is probably not enough. What other things do you have from both College and HS? Also which BC school are you thinking of? Arts & Sciences, CSOM, CSON, ED?

arts and sciences

High School: Model UN 3 years (under secretary general), secretary of national honor society, class officer for three years, assistant year book editor

College: volunteer at Boston soup kitchen, coordinator of program to have Wellesley students write letters to second and third graders to help with writing skills, Admissions rep: wrote letters to accepted students to give examples of Wellesley experience; also met with accepted students during open campus and paired them with their overnight hosts

Work: have had the same job since May of 2001

I am no expert so please dont take too much weight in what I say. It is always worth a shot, but I dont know if that is enough. What matters is the size of the applicant pool of transfer students. That is really what it comes down to. The incoming freshmen pool is all about the same, but transfers can really vary.

What helps at BC is if you have family or friends that went there? Get someone to write an alumni letter. Talk to the admissions officers and really express a desire to be there. I have stated in another post here that its just crucial to find something that will make you stand apart from everyone else.

You are in the running for sure, but work at it, and try to find some help where you can! Best of luck!
