Chances based mainly on EC

I’ve just finished high school (I’m from Greece) and I’m taking a sort of a gap year. I’ve registered for my SATs, I’m taking SATs II on December 1st and SAT I on February 26. Is this too late for 2008 admission? Or should I make arrangements for an earlier sitting? I’m also taking several A-levels and As (I’m applying to UK unis as well) and the IELTS and TOEFL exams so I’m not sure I can make it to an earlier sitting.
I’m thinking about taking quite a few AP’s, IF the one (and only!) test centre in Greece offers them this year…
So, is December 1/February 26 too late?

If my scores are not available by the time I send in my application, can I make up for that with my extras?

Here’s my list;

 1. 3 MUNs, was Ambassador in all of the them (there wasn’t any prizes or awards). I plan to participate in 4 international MUN conferences this year.

Was selected, while in grade 11th, for the Annual Parliament Simulation organised by the Ministry for Education for my project about Foreign Policy focusing on Middle East(along with other 300 11th grade high-school students from a total number of approximately 26000 high-school students from all over Greece and Greek students that live abroad). I was appointed - with other 20 from the total of 300 plus students - to the Committee of National Defense and Foreign Affairs. Along with many accolades, I got 2 recommendation letters from MPs and the SG of the Greek Parliament. All those who have participated in this program retain the right to be present during closed Parliament conferences, something I’m thinking I’ll take advantage of

I’m doing some weeks of volunteering abroad this year, mainly in Latin America (Peru, El Salvador etc.), working for local communities, building schools etc.

I’m going to Italy this month to do a six-week intensive language course program, to brush up on my Italian. Next summer, I’m going to France and Spain for language summer courses.

I did 500h of community service in a hospital

I speak French (studied French for 8 years), Italian and Spanish. I’m self-studying Russian and know bits of German

I have tons of shining recom letters from my high school teachers, a renowned professor, an author I’ve worked with and the chief doctors of the hospital where I did community service.

Was member of school government throughout my high-school years (well, in primary school as well!)

I am a member of AI

I’ll travel to Iran this year. I want to get a clear view of the political situation and the culture. I’ll probably visit Cuba as well.

I participate in the Local Youth Community Council

I worked as a freelance translator to fund my studies

I do fencing and dance (flamenco) in my free time

Well, I’ve got a year ahead to work on more activities. The thing is, I want to really get involved with things that are important to me, things I’m passionate about. I was always politically-aware and most of my activities had to do with political involvement. Besides, I plan majoring in Government, IR or Diplomacy and Foreign Policy.

I’m not sure I’ll mention this one but I’m a child sponsor. This is sort of personal though, so…

P.S. My GPA is 19.1 out of 20 (the 1-20 grading system).

December 1st is cutting it a little close, but it should be fine, and February 26 is too late for Fall 2008 admission.

Make sure to take italian and spanish subject tests to prove your proficiency. I believe the listening versions are only offered in OCT or NOV (check which month).
