Chances @ Boston U, NU, PennState

Hi im currently a junior in a very competitive HS right now
I dont know what my list should look like (am i seeking for too much? i dont know plz help me out):

 • Boston University
 • Northeastern University
 • Lehigh (reach)
 • Penn State University Park
 • Rutgers (new brunswick)

im am comfortable with my SAT right now, its about 1250 but after taking classes for the new SAT i wish to pull that up

we dont have class ranks, but i do have a GPA: 90.38 (so far)
i did well in frosh (94.843 gpa) but it lowered a great deal soph year (85.917) and i wish to pull my accumulative gpa up by quite a bit during junior and senior year … hopefully i will get it to reach 91.0 or higher (which i think is about a 3.5-3.6 according to princeton review)
my recommendations will be good i suppose, and so will be extracurriculars (i have picked up the pace steadily this junior year unlike my first two years where i wasnt too involved)

What are my chances? Should i eliminate any schools from my list? Which should I add? Thanks

btw… i want to major in the field of business

bump…
plz guys, i know im not one of the usual smart guys that post here but i can really use some help^^

Boston University: possible match

Northeastern University: match

Lehigh University: possible match

Penn State University Park: possible match …out of state??

Rutgers (new brunswick): possible match …out of state??

P.S. - That SAT score is really low, you would need to bump it up to 1400 or better.

i live in NJ so rutgers would be a great school to go to if i dont get accepted into the others mentioned… however i think for business BU and NU are great schools and therefore i would go there if accepted despite costly tuition :frowning: … besides my bro goes to harvard which is near boston (sort of affects my decision too)

bump please help…

hard to say since ur a junior. SAT is a little low, and you need some SAT IIs. your gpa is looking good, so im sure you can get those scores.

I have to agree: the SAT is looking a bit low. I was actually part of a mock-admissions committee at the BU orientation, and the 1250 will not distinguish you at all. You also need extra-curriculars-do you do sports, music, arts?

Basically, you need a good overall base (looking pretty good) as well as a solid hook. What makes you special?

Good luck!

i hope i really pull up the SAT score… but, for extracurriculars i didnt do much first 2 years as i said maybe only a few clubs, but junior and senior year im definitely working with mission drive committee, students against destructive decisions SADD, outreach, pro-life society, school newspaper, and other minor clubs such as computer club and french club… however, im quite disappointed that i dropped physics this junior year… will this affect the application process? i am not majoring in science after all, but is it still very important that i will have only finished HS with 3 years of science with no physics classes? as an alternative, i can take summer physics classes that some local colleges offer… will this help and should i do it? thanks…
