SAT: low-to-mid 1500s, out of 1600
GPA: 96-96.5 range unweighted, with 11 honors or AP classes at a college prep school
Athletics: varsity letters in two sports (2x All-League in one), former co-captain of a third
Extracurriculars: VP of one club, dedicated member of two others

Part-time job - 10 hrs a week
A good amount of volunteer service work
AP Scholar
National Merit

Has been chosen for a few leadership positions within the school community as well.

Downfall: SAT IIs in the 600s, with plans of retaking one next month and taking the ACTs next month as well to hopefully show how well-rounded of a student he is.

I think you have a chance at all of the schools, but the SAT IIs are a little low … How did you do on your APs? They mean more than the SAT IIs do! Good luck!

AP scores are not required & will have little bearing on admission. SAT II’s will not be a major factor either with your SAT I score & GPA. I think you’re a very good canidate at these schools. I’d be surprised if you weren’t admitted to 3 of the 4.

Thank you for your help. Lexieam, it was listed that he was an AP Scholar. Isn’t that enough to show colleges he did well on them?

And thank you, csdad.

As a side note, he took 5 APs in two years, since they aren’t offered freshman or sophomore year. I believe the most one can take at his school is 6. In other words, his schedule is almost as hard as can be.
