Chances- Dana Hall, Exeter, Northfield Mount Hermon, Lawerenceville , and Ross School

Hello! I wanted to know my chances of getting into, Danan Hall, Exeter, Andover, Northfield Mount Hermon, Ross School, Kimball Union, Lawerenceville, and Choate. I know you can’t really give me an estimate of whether I will get it or not, but I just wanted to know which schools would be a high reach, and which schools would be a little more attainable. I’m currently enrolled in a large, public school in California. I’m an African-American female, applying for tenth grade. Do you think that I will have a harder time getting in, considering I’m applying for tenth grade? Don’t most boarding schools tend to take less tenth grades? I have a huge interest in Politics, International Relations, Sociology, Philosophy, History, and Gender and Ethnic Studies. I’m bascially just really interested in Social Sciences and Humanities. Anyways, here is my current course schedule:

Honors English 9
World Geography/Health
French 1 (not a required course, choosen elective)
Algebra 1
General Science
Academic Decathlon (not taken during regular school day, taken after school as an extra period)

I realize that I don’t have a very rigorous courseload (considering I’m only taking 2 honors classes), but I’m hoping they will put more of an emphasis on my ECs, SSAT scores, and grades, rather than my course schedule.

ECs:
Internship w/ non-profit organization
Volunteered with Obama Campaign
Young Democrats of America
Jack and Jill
BSU
Volunteered with local Congress Campaign
Volunteered with local hospital (over 30 hours)
Horseback Riding (5 yrs.)
Internship w/ Talent Management Company
Modeling (3 yrs., Signed with Ford Models)
Acting (Theatre, Commercials)
Works for online magazine

SSAT Scores:
Haven’t taken the actual test yet. I’m scheduled to take the test in late Sept. I’ve done pretty well on the practice test, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Grades:
The grades I earned last year were less than stellar, they definitely weren’t as good as I would have liked them to be. I’m definitely going to work extra hard this year, to improve my GPA. I currently have all “A’s”, even though it’s only been a little less than a month since starting school.

Chances?

Bump…

You seem like an good candidate, you have a slight edge being that you horseback ride, and your african american. Just try to stand out, remember never let any one bring you down on any of these threads. I can’t chance you, I mean every year the admissions offices are looking for something different, and remember every year its more competitive, all I can say is study for that SSAT and have a great interview! I too am applying for 10th grade for Exeter, so were going to be competing :D. Actually, 9th and 10th have higher acceptance rates, 11th and 12th have a really small acceptance rate. Good Luck!
