12th: English lit, Biology, Comparative Government

Other courses of note:
Orchestra every year but for 9th, when there was none. But I did RI all state then. I’ve done other competitive orchestra programs, though not terribly so. I play viola.
I’m currently doing self-study Latin year 6.
I’m taking Vector Calculus at the community college.
GEMS - gifted education multidisciplinary seminar, which I’m taking this year. It’s a special gifted program thing, a letter goes with my transcript explaining to colleges the program. It looks impressive.

Recs:
The rec from my GEMS teacher is outstanding. Nothing short of incredible.
Rec from physics teacher is mediocre in how its written, but very honest in my teacher’s adoration of me.
Rec from Latin teacher I have not seen, but ought to be stellar, though I honestly don’t know if it got submitted to all my schools.
Guidance rec ought to be great too.

Activities/ECs/Honors:
Latin Club member for 3 years (since I moved here); president for 2 years
Attended Governor’s Latin Academy summer 2008
Latin Student of the Year 2007-2008; Chem student of the year same year
National Latin Honor Society - 2 years
National Honor Society - 2 years
Math Club past four years
It’s Academic Team past 3 years
Soccer, past two years
National Merit Semi-Finalist
MUN 1 year

Essays:
I’ve been told my Common App essay was outstanding. I put effort into as many as I could bring myself to, but some I ended up just bending a previously written essay to fit the prompt. I still think it’s impressive.

I got into UChicago EA. The rest of my list is as follows:
Princeton
Duke
Johns Hopkins
St. John’s College
Scripps
UVA
William and Mary

Chances? I’m also hoping for merit aid - if you have any insight into chances for that at any of the schools…

None of the Ivies give merit aid. It’s against their policy.

Reach at Princeton, simply because you seem like the average applicant- white, female, good stats, nothing super special.

Low reach/in at Duke, JH. And i’m guessing the last for are your safeties? so in at those.

You don’t know if recs are good unless you read them.

Princeton - reach
Duke - match
Johns Hopkins - match
St. John’s College - match
Scripps - ?
UVA - reach
William and Mary - match

Yeah, at Princeton I’m kinda just relying on what I hear is outstanding financial aid.

And I did read some of the recs. My teachers gave them to me. Okay, so I was a bit sneaky about the mediocre one, but my GEMS teacher always wants to be sure that everything’s perfect before sending things off.
