Im a senior in highschool. My GPA is an 84 unweighted. Im taking 3 AP courses and have taken many honors courses every year in the past. I am head/founder of a dance team. I have been in varsity tennis for 3 years. I am an Emergency Medical Technician. I have taken the 8 hour course for 1.5 months everyday of the week to become an EMT.

People say I have an amazing essay written.
What kind of schools do I have a good chance of getting in?
What schools should be my reach?

Indian as in Native American would confer a huge advantage. Indian as in Indian subcontinent is either no advantage at top schools, or might even be harmful. FA could harm you. SATs are good, but not tops.
Have you thought about flagship state schools (i.e. UMich-AA, SUNY-Binghamton, U-IL-UC)?

I’m applying to
U mich
U Rochester
NYU
Drexel
Rutgers
Loyola - Chicago
U of Illinois
JHU (just to try it)
Colgate (just to try)
Tufts (just to try)

Peter, I think you will get into Drexel, Loyola and maybe Rutgers. UMich, NYU JHU, Colgate and Tufts are reaches. Unsure on the others. Other good schools to look at would be DePaul, UMass (Amherst), SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Stony Brook and Temple. For smaller schools Drew, Susquahanna, Manhattan and Marist. I don’t know how great they are with financial aid but the SUNY schools are a bargain even for out of staters. Also, your SAT scores are good but I’m not sure what an 84 translates into (probably 3.0+). All of the schools I mentioned have good reputations and I think you would have excellent chances at all of them. Good luck!

Depending on where you live, I think you’ll get in to Rutgers, Drexel and maybe Loyola. Maybe Rochester, maybe Illinois. The rest of your schools look like either high targets or reaches.

What about schools in the DC/MD area like UMD, UMBC, American? Or Fordham?
