Chances for a Mexican-American

I’m a student from Los Angeles and I go to a private catholic high school. I carry a 3.07 GPA on a 5 point scale with a 1670 SAT score, I’m aware my grades are way less than stellar. I will be applying to the following schools: CSULA, SDSU, USF, USD, Santa Clara, LMU, UC Davis, Riverside, Merced and USC. Which schools would I most likely get into? I would really like to know, or at least have a certain insight.

Other info: Mexican-American, First Generation College student, 135 plus hours of community service done during high school career, current vice-president of the Latino Student Association. Note: I will be having a USC alum write a letter of recommendation for me, he is a family friend and mentor of mine.

Would love to hear some feedback, thanks!

You’ve got the best shot at csula and merced

Any more opinions?

Hello, you have a decent chance of admission at most schools you listed. Please understand that your stats will be on the lower end. a 3.07 gpa is not impressive on a 5 point scale. Doing 135 hours of community service doesn’t help you as your primary stats are low. What you would need to do is really hit it home with the essays to really make the admissions committee feel you really want to be there. -■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■(.)com
