you’ll probably get accepted into BC because you’re from hawaii, but your stats are right around the level for accepted BC students. Oh, AP scores don’t affect the admissions process. AP scores are only used to place students out of certain core classes

yeah i think the same, you are competitive for admission to BC. location will help you and your courses seem challenging and rank is great. i think? the ACT score you have is right in the high end of the range for BC. write a good essay and get great recs and youll have a good chance of being admitted

I think you stand a good shot. A good essay is necessary and your location does help. One bit of advice however, make sure your teachers or recommenders spell Boston College with the word “College,” and not “University.” I worked in BC admission office and had seen many letters saying, “I whole heartedly recommend _____ for admission at Boston University.” It irks us to no end.

Correction to something miragemage posted earlier:

AP scores ARE considered during the admissions process. Applicants are asked to self-report their AP scores on the school’s Common App Supplement and good AP scores are a plus during the app review. (This was confirmed by a BC rep at a recent college night presentation.)

that actually does make a very big difference… i am hispanic too and was an nation hispanic merit finalist. if it helps you at all to know, i had a 3.8 weighted… pro 3.5 unweighted GPA and an SAT of 2110. my 5 on apush was the only ap i submitted while applying. i was admitted early and now am i freshman. you should apply early action if you are serious about the school so you know sooner and have more time to scope it out.

good luck! you can pm me with any questions you might have

I just transferred to BC and I love it so much! Work really hard on your college application - it’ll be worth it! Let me know if you have any questions.
