Colleges, in terms of prefrence:

Boston College

Wake Forest

North Carolina

University of Delaware

Pitt

Syracuse

Villanova

Lehigh

Lafayette

Rutgers (in-state safety)

well junior year is a big upward trend…your GPA is pretty low, but for most of those places i think your test scores balance it out quite well…

the ones on top would be slight reaches, but i’d say you have a decent shot everywhere.

wow, SPECTACULAR ECs. if you had a better gpa, i say competitive at HYP

Since I’m not too good with the 84, 85, 88, 89, 90, 92, 96 numbers, I’m going to presume that your 90 UW is equal to a 3.5 GPA, and your 90.779 W is around a 3.58 GPA W

Based upon this, I put your chances as follows:

Boston College-slight reach to reach (kind of interesting wanting to go to a Catholic school as your first choice)

Wake Forest-reach

North Carolina-reach (and definite reach out-of-state)

University of Delaware-safe match

Pitt-safe match

Syracuse-match

Villanova-match

Lehigh-reach

Lafayette-slight reach to reach

Rutgers-safe match (not a safety in my view)

P.S. I think you need a real safety school on this list–and I wouldn’t bother with the application to North Carolina or Wake Forest unless you plan to play a sport at the school–then I would include them. The rest are worth a shot, though. Good luck.

Why would Rutgers not be a safety? I though being in-state with my stats would make it a safety for me.

i disagree with calcruzer…your SAT scores are quite a bit higher than the average at Rutgers, and your ECs will make up for your GPA. I would consider it a safety, and at worst, like he said a “safe match”…which is pretty much a safety. The admission rate is over 50% isn’t it?

I would say you’re in everywhere except for UNC because you’re OOS. The private schools will take into account your EC’s more, and you’re definitely above average in that regard. Good luck!

^^^ Agreed. In everywhere except UNC.

eh low GPA and lame ECs…

no chance… Apply to BU

Is that sarcasim go-vibe? Also, what are you saying, I can’t get into any of those schools?

Also, I would like to make a couple changes. I just got a hold of the official transcript that is sent from my school to colleges and ONLY my weighted GPA is reported. In fact, the unweighted and rank are not calculated or reported at all. So the only thing colleges will see will be the 90.779 GPA. Does that give me a better chance at my choices?

In addition, I will be attending a mini-med school at my local hospital this fall. So I will add that to my EC list.

don’t listen to go vibe. he’s an idiot who doesn’t know when something is no longer funny

Your only challenges will be Lehigh, UNC and Wake…you’re pretty set for the rest.

If you were a URM…i think UNC would be a slight reach/match based on the people ive seen admitted…only if youve taken your schools toughtest courseload and are well rounded tho

I am not an URM but I have taken a fairly rigorous courseload. At this point, I’m thinking that it might not really be worth it to apply to UNC. Yea it’s a great school but if my chances are that slim it might not really be worth it. How do I look for my number one choice, BC? That’s really the main college I want to go to.

Also, is there anything I can do to make my application more competitive?

bump (10 char)

Any other opinions before I start finalizing my list?
