SAT IIs: Math IC: 690 Math IIC: 610 (not so fabulous)

What are my chances?

2100+ SAT and Bronx sci = in

My dad and sister went to Bronx Science, yay… but yeah I think you have a really good shot at getting in. Good luck!

you need 3 sat IIs :(

i actually have 4. i just didnt list them all.

oh okay. lucky! i only had two and didnt realize until it was too late.

they changed the requirement to 2 SAT II’s if you take the new SAT with writing section

oh great! thank you

ok, Canadian citzen but living in the U.S…Soph. What do I need to do to get in? Im taking an Ap this year but am considering going the IB route. Should I go IB or load up on Ap’s as a Junior. weighted G.P.A: 4.0 Plus both parents alums. What do I need to get on the S.A.T and do I need to take the ACT? I want to study buisness, and do they have early descion? Does it help your chances that much?

hey guys- you know how on their website it says the minimum sat grades you can have… if i have taken 4 sat2s, and two of them (the required number) are way above, and the other two are right on/10 pts below the min, do you think i still have a chance? cause those two pass it fine… ? thansk!

ps- sppedofsound, i dont think they have early descion.

McGill doesn’t have early decision and as long as your two sats are way above and two are right on you are fine

speedofsound5, GO IB! I’m doing the diploma, and it’s awesome. IB is a lot more impressive than a bunch of APs because

1) You get an IB Diploma which is recognized worldwide (APs tend to be more americanized). It proves you have completed your CAS hours (creativity, action, service), extended essay (on anything you are passionate about–great thing to mention in personal statements), and Theory of Knowledge–a fun philosphy course.
2) There is not as much emphasis on the exams as APs… because there is so much internal and external assignments that can affect your mark
3) I don’t know if it’s just my school, but getting a high average is easier with IB levels because they tend to inflate your marks a little
4) Your final marks that are send to university are PREDICTED marks
5) IB exams aren’t all multiple choice, a lot of work is put into the marking process unlike most ap’s

speedofsound5, I would also recommend IB - not because I know that it’ll help you over AP (I think you’d be fine with AP as well) but because it’s just a great experience. And I think you’ll find it’s more impressive to people who are acquainted with both programs.
So, if you have IB available to you, go for it. It’s a LOT of work, sometimes overwhelming, but I think it’s worth it.
