Just curious what chances are of getting in and possibly being offered merit aid.

I don’t normally like to predict chances, but I feel pretty confident that he’ll be admitted, unless he’s applying to one of the crazy majors like film, where the criteria change. If he applied in time for the scholarship deadline, it seems like he could be invited to interview for a merit award, especially if he has good recommendations, or comes from a school where the GPA is a known quantity. If SD stands for South Dakota, I think that would put another thumb on the scale for geographic diversity!

This student is from California. It would help if we knew the intended major. Would that be international relations?

My guess…Very good for admission.

his major is political science. SD is San Diego, and he is also ELC in California which guarantees admission to UCSB, Davis, Irvine.

His stats are as strong as they get. It’s impossible to predict merit scholarship invitations, but if he is NMF he’ll automatically get 1/2 tuition for 4 years. Strong students also need to make it clear in their application that they are truly interested in attending USC.

absolutely yes for admission assuming his file is complete lol

and a probably yes for scholarship consideration.

nice work

He applied for 1/2 century trojan scholarship too. He is very interested in USC. He is no a NMfinalist though. Didn’t really know about the PSAT thing, just thought it was practice.
