Chances for admission?

I’m a rising high school senior in Mississippi and I was wondering what my chances are for admission:
GPA: 4.2 (weighted)
ACT: 29, writing 8
I’ve taken all the AP courses offered at my school which are only 3 (currently taking 2). I scored a 4 on the AP English Language test.
National Honor Society
Key Club Committee Chairman
Varsity Tennis State Champion for 3 years and Captain since 10th grade.
Varsity Basketball team member and captain this year.
I have held a part-time job since the middle of sophomore year.

GW is my number one choice, should I apply early decision?

ED should give you a stronger chance. If you have no financial issues, I think you should.

Switch out “Mississippi” for “Tennessee”, and your stats are pretty similar to what mine were (minus the sports) when I was applying in the fall of 2007. I feel like being from the South gives you a bit of a boost…there really aren’t very many Southerners at GW. But nonetheless, if finances aren’t an issue, I’d apply early decision if GW is your top choice…it’s nice to have the whole process over and done with as soon as possible.
