Stats:
SAT: 2370
GPA (Weighted, Unweighted): 4.6, 4.0

Parents Income: $115 K, but about $225 K in home equity and a decent amount saved

With these stats, what top schools could I attend for $20-30k/year?

It’s hard to know what “a decent amount saved means”. $100K? $200k? More?

Are they also contributing to a 401k? If so, does that $115k income include their annual 401k contribution? Are you saying that their AGI is $115 or is that their net income?

If your parents’ savings/investments are significant than that will increase their family contribution at top schools.

With that $115 in adjusted gross income, the only places you will see SIGNIFICANT need based aid would be at the very top schools (HYPSM for example) where need based financial aid is awarded to families in that imcome range.

For most other places, your need based aid would be limited.

Please note - Ivy’s offer no merit aid, only needs-based.

To add to the above info…

Have your parents said how much they will pay each year? Have they said that their limit is $30k per year?

Since Harvard, Yale, Princeton are very hard to get into, and they have the super generous aid packages, and other CSS Profile schools may expect too much from your family, **you need to protect yourself by applying to some financial safety schools. ** Those are schools that you know you can afford because the total costs are about $30k or you know that you’ll get an assured automatic big scholarships that would bring the price to $30k or below.

Your financial safety schools will likely be your state’s flagship and schools that will give you big merit scholarships for your stats. This will protect you from having only acceptances from schools with inadequate aid packages. Do you have any financial safety schools in mind?
