Schools Applied

-UCLA
-USC (I’m interviewing there this weekend for a full scholarship)
-UC Berkeley
-Stanford
-Some Ivies (2 of the Ivy League interviewers basically said I was a “perfect fit for their school”, but the interview isn’t much weight in the admissions process)
-NYU
-Northwestern
-U of Chicago

I think my academics are decent (not stellar), and my “hook” is the acting, because I don’t think many of their applicants are as heavily involved in theater, film, tv, etc.

I forgot something, I’m a peer advisor/educator for HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention

-UCLA: Good shot, but you are OOS
-USC (I’m interviewing there this weekend for a full scholarship)
-UC Berkeley: Ditto as UCLA
-Stanford: slight reach/reach (as it is for practically everyone)
-Some Ivies (2 of the Ivy League interviewers basically said I was a “perfect fit for their school”, but the interview isn’t much weight in the admissions process): ditto as Stanford
-NYU: safe match
-Northwestern: match
-U of Chicago: match

I think you have a good chance of being admitted to at least one Ivy or Stanford.

Good luck!

Wait, so what exactly is your name?

my name is Jona. Thank you very much sfgiants for the evaluation. My thoughts were along your lines, except I am almost positive I won’t make it into Stanford, because their application didn’t allow for you to elaborate that much. And they don’t interview, so I don’t think they would think I stand out at all (ex. I didn’t get to send an acting resume, etc. because they don’t accept extra ‘stuff’). I think compared to the average applicant, interviews help me a little more, just because I am completely comfortable talking with strangers, etc.

UCB/UCLA: Match (out of state)
