ESSAY:

—> I was thinking of talking of Mauritius as a multi-faceted country and how it has influenced me + my experience as captain of the volleyball team of LCQB (my beloved secondary (high) school). (would that make me standout? :S or do i need something that weighs more?)

APPLYING FOR NEED BASED FINANCIAL AID!!!

I think you have a pretty good chance. It’s definitely worth applying.

thank you :D

good chance indeed! problem is, how much fa do you need?

About 50%…does the fact that i’m applying for FA play such an important part in the admission decision?

I’m pretty sure lehigh does not include FA in admissions… If I remember correctly. At least… that’s what they claim.

Uh…Just wanted to know what you meant by “lehigh does not include FA in admissions”?

yeah unfortunately it does play a part in admission…theyre need-aware :(

oh thats too bad…hope my chances dont go down too much coz of that! :S
Thanks though!

Your SATs are not that great but I know people here with 1900s on their SATs and you’re pretty close. The thing that will definitely help you is your minority status (international students get a break off academics most times b/c the school really wants to increase diversity). And yeah to settle the debate financial aid shouldn’t play too much of a role in your admission.

A suggestion to you is that although it’s far away, try to visit the campus at least once for a group session, interview, or a campus tour. It will go a long way. I know people with pretty good everything that got rejected just because they didn’t show enough interest towards Lehigh by going for a simple visit.

Sory for the late reply…thanks for the suggestion! :D

Since you are international and making a campus visit is pricey, I would suggest contacting the Lehigh admissions office to see if there are any Lehigh alumni in your area so that you have a chance to meet, ask questions, learn more about the uni. Admissions wants you to show interest, and you can do that in more ways that hauling yourself across an ocean.

@dunnowho073: Do you intend to apply ED or RD?
