Essays: Decent
Recs: Very good
“Hook”: Female who is very into math. Took all the math classes my school had to offer, plus two at Georgia Tech.

You know you want to… :)

Eh, Females aren’t so uncommon in math anymore, so its not a hook. If you were to study Physics or Engineering however, you’d be almost for sure accepted at all of those, because then thats a pretty good hook. (Almost no females take Engineering/Physics…just look @ RPI!!! Engineering school with over 70% guys) but it’s still a plus.

I’d say strong chance at all of them.

Thanks - anyone else?

Maea, agree with Infinite_Truth, excellent chances at all. Good luck!

Thanks. Any chances more specific to the schools? (reach/match/safety)

I agree that you are likely everywhere, except for Brown (especially if you are Asian or Asian-American).

I’m Caucasian… not much better…

Very good chances everywhere. I can speak for Rice since I was accepted ED and have been following stats threads vs. who actually got in. Rice puts a lot of emphasis on interest and extracurriculars. Your EC’s seem pretty good (similar to mine) and your other stats are above what mine were, except maybe for SAT II’s.
Just make sure you do a kickass job on all the essays and the “box”, and I’d say you have a VERY good shot. The reason I don’t say you’re in automatically is because so many people apply to Rice from TX, it being the best school in the state and all. And this year the number of people applying is crazy, they beat the record already for Early Decision applications by 20% this year.

But I’d be very surprised if you got rejected :)

I heard the “box” wasn’t that important… oh well, I spent time on it anyway.

Any others?

I largely agree with the others. You’re a terrific candidate, but Brown can be very quirky and you’re profile is not over the top for that level of selectivity. The rest look solid.

Any other comments? (Specifically about Rice - do you guys think I can get merit aid there?)

Brown: reach (because it’s a reach for anybody)
Rice: match
Tufts: match/in
Emory: match/in
William and Mary: in

Great EC’s

This is a little old, but I’m bored. Bump.

Good Chances Everywhere. Brown will be a little harder [Ivies are always a little harder but you will probably be accepted]. Good luck
