Chances for CaS ED 2

I recently got into a car accident, which put me in the hospital for 8 days. Unfortunately, those 8 days made me miss the ED 1 application deadline :/

I am an 18 year old Brazilian/White senior from South Florida.

SAT (best of two tests)
Reading: 740
Math: 560
Writing: 650

3 AP classes taken Junior year:
Lang/Comp: 5
US History: 4
Psychology: 5

Taking 3 AP classes senior year:
Economy
Gov/pol
Lit/comp

GPA: 3.72
HPA: 4.17
Rank: 87/666

I have 130 hours of community service with good extracurriculars. I’m also a sergeant in my school’s criminal justice program.

Do I have a shot?

Yes. Posttoshort

Yes.

Idk if your GPA is weighted or UW. But, NYU’s average GPA is around a 3.6+

Your SAT score is exactly at the 25%. NYU’s SATs range from 1950-2230.

thanks for your input, guys. my uw gpa is 3.7 my weighted gpa is 4.1.

Also, would NYU care that i got a 350 reading score on my second SAT? My writing score went up 70 points, which is why I’m submitting it. There shouldn’t be any issues though since they super score, right?

I don’t know if they’ll care, but may I ask how you managed to drop from a 740 to a 350 in CR? Did you just not try at all?

I could see it hurting, though. It looks bad (at least to me) that you walked into a test and purposely got a bad score on a section because you didn’t care about it. It was at least worth a shot.

I was very ill on test day, which made me very fatigued. I knew I wouldn’t do better than a 740, so I conserved all of my attention for writing and math. I managed to go up 70 points in writing. I guess I’ll explain on my app just to be safe.
