I’m applying for 9th grade at Choate Rosemary Hall. All my grades are at least A’s (I know middle school grades don’t really matter) 98 percentile on SSAT, I’m taking Algebra II as an 8th grader, I got gold medals on both my National Spanish and National Latin exam last year, I have played piano for 8 years, and viola for about 5, both at a high level, I play basketball, and my brother goes there. My middle school historically has also sent tons of students to Choate, and last year, all five students who applied there got in. And these kids were not especially great in my opinion.
Your chances are very good, assuming there aren’t other negative things that you left out (like behavioral issues, etc.). You have a brother there now and you demonstrated that you can handle the academics. Those are probably the main factors. Then you have good ECs. I’d say your chances are about 90% + or - 10%. Let us know how it went!
If I were your brother and knew that you were so anxious, I would have found a way to get some hint from admission folks (wink).
Your credentials look strong, and you have sibling priority. However, nobody on this forum could chance you with certainty. The best thing you can do now is get some sleep.
I forgot to mention captain of robotics team, member of tech club, 2nd chair viola in southern Connecticut orchestra 3 years in a row, member of local orchestra for about 5 years, did cross country for two years, and ultimate frisbee. At this point I should probably just be patient and wait😂
