Hey guys,
I’m a high school senior and my top three choices are Colgate, Davidson, and Washington & Lee (if I got the Johnson scholarship).
My GPA from my 1st three years is a 3.95 uw, 4.7 weighted.
SAT: 770 CR, 780 M, 760 W
Subject Tests: 740 Bio M, 740 U.S. History.
APs:
9th grade world history (5)
10th grade euro history (5), psych (5)
11th grade: microecon (5), bio (5), calc AB (5), U.S. History (5), English Lang (4)
My first three years I took those classes in addition to the required honors classes, one or two electives, and a few study halls.
My senior course load is ap gov, AP French, ap lit, ap calc bc, ap physics 1, ap stats, and macroecon at a community college. I know I have a great essay and recommendations. The part of my application I’m worried about is extracurriculars:
Varsity swimming, 4 years - regionals 10th grade, states junior year
Varsity scholastic bowl, 3 years - captain this year, my senior year
Varsity tennis - 3 years including this year
Key club: 4 years, about 80 hours of service total my first three years.
40 hours of habitat for humanity volunteering summer before my junior year.
450 + hours of work as a lifeguard. I started late August right before my junior year and worked through the school year (at an indoor pool) and all through this past summer.
I have all the standard honor societies and school awards also. Anyway what are my chances for Colgate and Davidson? I’m pretty sure I’ll get into w&l, but could I get the Johnson scholarship? Also, do I have a shot at Vanderbilt, Dartmouth, or swarthmore? Those would be my reach schools, but I’m afraid my ECs are too weak to make them realistic even for reach schools. I know my academics are more than strong enough for Colgate but again I’m worried about being limited by my ECs. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
