Chances for Columbia

Hi! I am from Nebraska, and I know that gives me a geographic advantage, but I am still worried.
I go to a competitive public school and I have always had a 4.0 GPA and I’m in the top 5% of my class. I took AP US History, BC Calc, and AP Music Theory this year, which are the only APs I have taken, and next year I’m going to take AP Bio, AP Euro, AP Lit, AP Comp, and AP Latin. I have always taken the most difficult classes available at my school.
My SATs are not as good as they could be yet, but I am close to a 2100.
I won 1st place in an international competition Freshman year. I am also part of my school’s nationally recognized showchoir. I am in NHS and Latin Club. I have done 2 internships at UNMC and could probably get letters of rec from those people.
I know I could get about 10 dazzling letters of rec from various teachers.
I am going to be a senior and desperately want to go to Columbia and am wondering if there is anything else to do at this point to boost my resume.
Thanks!

Just for clarification, being from Nebraska does not give you a tremendous advantage. In fact, geographical positioning is almost at the bottom of the pile for admissions officers when determining acceptance for applicants.

Anyways, that being said, your SAT score is too low for a school like Columbia. You should retake it if you want to even be considered in the pool of applicants. Focus on your objective numbers.
And from your original post, I don’t see any extracurriculars, which could greatly harm your chances.

By the way, I’ve attended info sessions at Columbia before and all you really need is two letters of recommendation. Admissions officers said they generally throw away extraneous letters.

As long as your SAT scores are high enough, I think you have a good shot
