Chances for Cornell ED or Northwestern ED?

<p>I am debating on either Cornell ED or NU ED. I intend on applying to Weinberg at NU and CALS at Cornell. Do I have a realistic shot at either of them, and which do you suppose I have a better chance at? I have visited NU, and they ask on the common app if the applicant has ever visited, I am leaning towards NU.</p>

<p>UW GPA 3.42 (low, I know)
W GPA 4.12
SAT- 2240 (680CR 760M 800W)
SAT IIs- 770 Math2 760 Chem
APs- took 6; all 4s or 5s (I’ve taken as many Pre-APs/APs as I can)
top 15% of my class, approx 185 students
top 20 High School in the nation</p>

<p>ECs

  1. Member of a Biomedical Debate team in HOSA, competed in 9,10,11, and now in 12th Made it to the regional level of competition all 3 years, and state level in 10th. Vice President of my chapter.
  2. Member of a local Leadership Council
  3. Competed in the Economics Challenge and made it to that State level, placed 5th there. Vice President of the Business/Economics Club at school.
  4. Intern at a leukemia research lab this past summer
  5. Volunteered at a children’s hospital for the past 2 yrs
  6. Worked at an engineering company in summer 2012, made $5000 and donated it to charity
  7. Have been playing piano for the past 8 yrs
  8. Played chess competitively
  9. Representative of Student Council at school
  10. Placed 3rd and 4th at a local competition concerning the future of energy in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
  11. NHS Member</p>

<p>Hmmm… I think that you might actually look better for cornell. and btw, cornell likes seeing great essays, so maybe worry less about your stats and work more on the essays instead?
don’t loose hope- i think that it won’t be your gpa that determines whether of not you get in-it’s more about character, i guess.</p>
