Hi everyone! I really want to know how I stack up since the schools I’m interested in are really competitive. I’m a rising junior so nothing is set in stone yet, but I’d like to be chanced all the same
I’m conflicted about where to apply ED (which I will), and I’ve narrowed my choices for ED down to Cornell HumEc, Johns Hopkins, and Northwestern (also applying RD to UMich, Purdue, Notre Dame, NYU, Wellesley, and U Wisconsin-Madison). I plan on getting a summer job and a public health internship this year, and will probably have more things to add in the future. BUTTT I’m really really worried about something! Sophomore year, my friend and I took concurrent enrollment courses at UIUC and we were doing well in our classes and got complacent and stopped going…and ended up with D’s…We plan on retaking the classes in the spring of our senior years, and definitely will be writing supplementary essays explaining how at 15 years of age, we didn’t realize the consequences of our actions, and how now we really understand how easy it is to get in over your heads and lose focus. We’ve both talked to our college counselor about this, and she’s been really supportive and plans on helping us out with our situation as much as she can. I know if we actually try our best we can both get at least a B+ when we retake the class (mine was Intro Food Science and Nutrition). But yeah…I feel like I’ve ruined my chances for admissions into ‘good’ colleges, and I have no one to blame for this but myself :/
