Schools: MIT, Stanford, Tufts, BU, USC, UCSD. They all have decent sailing programs

Suggestions? Am I dreaming?

A thought:

MIT…average
Stanford…average
Tufts…excellent
BU…excellent
USC…very good
UCSD…very good

Might want to look at a few of these as well:

UW-Madison…excellent
URochester…excellent
Lehigh U…excellent
Union C…excellent
Trinity C…excellent
Lafayette C…excellent
Brown U…good
Columbia (Fu)…good

UCSD would not be a “very good” chance since he’s from OOS.

MIT Stanford Tufts are your reaches, probably in that order. Good luck!

Yea. I would say:

MIT: Reach
Stanford: Reach
Tufts: Slight Reach
BU: Safety/Match
USC: Match
UCSD: Not sure, probably safety/match

If you can get yourself recruited for the sailing team of any of those schools, then your chances will rocket up.

UCSD isn’t remotely safety for him. It’s more like slight reach/match, since he’s OOS.
Tufts/UCSD/USC-Slight Reach
