<p>I’m applying to Deerfield Academy, Hotchkiss, COncord Academy, and Groton, all boarding for 9th grade without financial aid. I have 3 A’s, 2 A-'s, and one B+. I’m in Honors Earth Science, and I have lots of extracurriculars:
Piano, 8 years
Swim Team, 5 years
Saxophone, 5 years
Jazz Band, 1 year
Symphonic Band, 5 years
Guitar, 2 years
Drawing and Painting, 5 years
I have 99% percentile SSAT scores, 2319/2400
My grandparents live in Deerfield, and I have 4 alumni reccommendations at DA.
What are my chances of getting into these schools?</p>
<p>Your chances are strong, with your decent grades, ssat, deep involvement in music, and alumni connections.</p>
<p>Just a small thing though…for your EC’s though, when you’re writing them down, I would group them together a little (less is more). Do you play saxophone in jazz band? Then you can put those together. What do you play in symphonic band. It’s probably what the admissions officers will do anyway, put it all into perspective.</p>
<p>Find that spark that makes you unique and emphasize it.</p>
<p>I think you have a great chance at all of these schools, especially DA. You’re musical accomplishments will help you stand out and the other EC’s, grades, and SSAT scores are all really helpful. You’re almost definite into Deerfield with those Alumni recommendations!</p>
