Chances for Fall of '10

<p>I am applying for fall of 2010 to COM, was wondering if someone can help me out with my chances of getting in.</p>

<p>GPA:
UW-3.35
My school doesn’t do weighted GPA so i don’t know what it is</p>

<p>Honors/AP English and Social Studies all years, one honors math class</p>

<p>SAT: 1900
ACT plus writing: 28 11/12 on essay</p>

<p>ECs:
Ski Team (2 years, will be 3 this year)
Freshman football
News Editor for school newspaper
School improv group
Working on school literary journal for senior year</p>

<p>Volunteer:
Meals on Wheels (2 years)
Elks Club christmas food collecting program(2 years)
Portland Independant Media Center (contributed several articles/stories)
Habitat for Humanity (1 build)
Volunteering at local cable access station this summer (twice a week for 8 weeks, 8 hrs a day)</p>

<p>Senior Classes include:
AP Lit/Comp
Physics
Precalculus
Adv. Media/Broadcasting
Radio Broadcast
Holocaust/Genocide Studies
Media, Politics and Government
and some others</p>

<p>Anyways, this is my stuff, any help would be greatly appreciated!

<p>Your EC’s, volunteer work, and senior classes are great- they show your interest. Keep that up.</p>

<p>Don’t listen to people on CC who tell you that you need a 2350 to get into college. Your SAT scores are right in the 25-75% range, and your ACT is near the 60-65% range, which is great.</p>

<p>GPA is pretty good, try to get it up senior year so you can get merit aid from BU. </p>

<p>I think that you have a good shot at getting in, but I would definitely try to boost either your SATs or GPA a bit senior year to get a better merit package! Your finaid will correlate with both your need and your grades/etc, so it’s pretty important.</p>
