Almost zero chance at FSU or UF. Decent chance at the directional schools.

No way, you’ve got a good chance at FSU, I dual enroll there. Almost no chance at UF, but good chance at UCF/USF.

Very limited chance at Florida State for Fall admission. You’d need to qualify for disadvantaged status or something similar. Ditto UF.

Summer admission may be possible at either.

I already applied for fall admission for FSU - no desire to start in the summer. I have a low family income, and discussed some unique family circumstances in my essay and how they shaped me to be a stronger person. On my resume, I included reasons why my GPA was low (economic problems have been a distraction).

Don’t my ECs and SAT score make up for GPA?

To FSU GPA and course rigor are more significant than a high SAT score. UF is probably likewise. If you can justify to them your disadvantaged status then your chances improve.

Good luck!

How do I justify it to them? Is there a special process, or is it just something they will see through my application?

I suggest you call admissions and consider the CARE program.

See: [fsu.edu | Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement](<a href=“http://care.fsu.edu/]fsu.edu ”>http://care.fsu.edu/ )

C.A.R.E. provides preparation, orientation and academic support programming for students who are among the first in their family to attend college, and for those who otherwise may face unique challenges in college because of economic, cultural or educational circumstances. C.A.R.E. implements programs to prepare certain middle and high school students for college as well as programming to help entering college students in their adjustment and academic success throughout their time in college. The students served by C.A.R.E. represent broad levels of diversity in terms of backgrounds, cultures, interests, and academic performance.

Anyone else have any chances for me? Thanks for all the input so far!

I would really like to know about FSU since decisions come out soon! Thanks!
