Chances for Georgetown?

I am a sophomore at a Jesuit High School in LA and have been playing tennis since I was 9. I am playing aggressive tennis and playing at tournaments. My rank has improved and I would love to play at Stanford for their team. I am Native American and am 25%. I have not registered since my grandmother is sensitive about talking about her past due to the fact that her father left the family to rejoin the tribe. I am very interested in learning more about my culture. I was the ASB president in middle school and received the presidents award for gold level hours in community service. I took a trip to Nicaragua and held a school drive for supplies (while I was president). I went to the school there and played with the kids. I am planning on doing another trip to the dominican republic. Sophomore grades are 3.7 for 1st semester and 3.9 for expected 2nd semester. I would like to know how Native American culture will help and what my chances are.

We need test scores, course rigor, rank (to view your GPA in context), and other info before anyone can say. Look up common data sets for Georgetown so you know what to aim for. Good luck

@TheAtlantic I was just curious about the Native American factor. To answer your questions, my school doesn’t rank, it is jesuit and college-prep high school (difficult), and I have not taken any SATs or ACTs.

Race factors in, none of us knows how much though @jmcmillan12 . I know Georgetown REA is better for minorities than Georgetown RD. Most of Georgetown’s minorities apply RD, so you’re a better standout if you apply during REA.

Nobody knows how much race counts, but Georgetown isn’t like Darthmouth where there’s blatant support for NAs.

If you want to be recruited in tennis you have check http://www.tennisrecruiting.net/

To be a legit recruit you need to be at the very least a 2 star

@TheAtlantic Ok thank you. I also heard that Georgetown is Jesuit which will help since my high school is also Jesuit

Does your school have a track record placing kids into GTown?

@ClarinetDad16 I am not sure, but the majority of the students went to excellent universities and a lot offered sports scholarships (a few for football at Stanford). I have visited the campus and the town area. I also know alumni and a few students there right now which I forgot to mention.

@ClarinetDad16 How many APs honors should I take sophomore year? Planning on 1 to 2 APs and 1 Honor
