You should be admitted to both. An URM with a 1340/1600 SAT will make you competitive at all colleges & universities, including Ivies, except for the elite engineering schools, such as MIT, CalTech, Olin & Harvey Mudd. You may want to consider Stanford, Brown, Rice & Washington Univ. in St. Louis in addition to UVa. although Texas & Emory are excellent choices.

Phonyreal98- Yes, UT is incredibly difficult to get into if you are OOS. That is why I am worried.

Icy9gg8- Thank you for the input! I’m pretty sure that is is a little late to apply to those schools, but I looked at them in my college search. Emory and Texas (esp. Texas) seemed to be more in my price range and they seemed to fit me best, for various reasons (including proximity to urban areas).

Also, I could never go to UVA. WAAAAAYYYYY too many people from my school end up going there and I don’t really like the vibe that I get from the school. Thank you, though.
