<p>So far, I’ve taken the most demanding classes my school has to offer, and am most interested in science, especially Chemistry.</p>
<p>School Awards: Headmaster’s List (min. 3.66 GPA) Grade 9 Scholarship Award (highest academic average), Bradford Lamson Award (highest academic average for grades 9+10), Grade 10 English Departmental Distinction Award. This year I will also be nominated for the Cum Laude Society. </p>
<p>ECs: My main ones that I’m most interested in and will emphasize the most are piano and karate. I’ve won over $4000 in piano competitions, performed on television, and participated in the International Musikseminar in Vienna over my freshman summer. Second semester this year, I have also been accepted by the U of M to take music classes from a very famous professor with tuition covered by the state, and I will accumulate 4 semester credits toward a major in piano performance by the time I graduate from high school. As for karate, I’m a second degree black belt and compete in various regional and national tournaments. I’ve been in piano for 11 years so far, and karate for 5 years.</p>

<p>Math League: 10-12, I am captain this year, and will also most likely be my team’s top scorer this year. This was not offered my freshman year.

<p>Summer Experiences: Vienna International Musikseminar (9) Travelled in China, People to People program in Washington D.C. for Medicine, History of Disease class through CTY (10) Will conduct research this coming summer, and will probably get stuff published in journals, compete in science fairs like INTEL, etc. </p>
<p>Community Service: 70 hours through school tutoring elementary school children. This year I am teaching Chinese to a 1st grade class. 100 + hours volunteering at a nursing home close to where I live. I play piano for the residents, and am also a peer trainer. </p>
