CHANCES for HYP and all IVYS...

Now that I have your attention…

Will these grades be ok for admission to Loyola Marymount University, U San Diego, and USC for Business? Would chances be better if I applied undeclared? I have great ECs, leadership, work experience, and volunteer work. You will notice the upward trend in grades. I don’t really want actual chances I would just like to know if these grades will suffice.

(These are the semester grades with no + or -)

Frosh

Algebra: D/D
World History: B/A
(H) Engligh 9: B/B
Spanish 1: C/C
Biology: B/B
Writing: A

Sophomore

Geometry: A/B
World History 2: A/A
(H) Chemistry: C/B
(H) English 10: B/B
Spanish 2: B/B
Graphic Design: A

Junior (Second semester projected)

Advanced Algebra: A/A
AP US History: A/A
AP Bio: B/B
(H) English 11: A/A
(H) Spahish 3: B/A

Will have very hard senior courses.

You won’t go far

I see the upward trend, but you are going to need to up the ante in terms of your classes (take challenging courses). You say that you are going to take hard senior courses, so all the better for you, but take into consideration that your GPA is cumulative and that only some schools will ignore your freshman year (or sophomore, not sure about that).

Apply to a UC where they only take into account your Sophmore and Junior years.

I would apply to a UC but only UCLA, UCB, and UCSD really intrest me and the first 2 are top tier. Also, I am OOS for the UCs. Any other opinions?

bumppppp…

You don’t have a good enough GPA or enough honors for USC to be a realistic shot.
