I made one of these threads as a junior, but now I have all of my stats finalized. So here we go:

School: Competetive Prep School in Pennsylvania

Financial Aid: very important

I want to study engineering, and I’m a white male.

How do you have a 4.1 unweighted? Isn’t the point of unweighted that you can only go to 4.0?

You’re certainly strong enough academically to be competitive - I’d say it’ll depend on other factors. Your need for financial aid and intended field are irrelevant for admissions purposes (I would say the white male bit pretty much is too, but I sure as hell don’t want to open up that can of worms yet again). Some of your awards, like the National Spanish Exam and the Mathlete stuff, are cool, some of the others (scholarship to high school, NMSemifinalist, AP Scholar with Honors) are a dime a dozen.

…only limtied materials are provided for you to build your anti-egg-shattering
container for the egg drop …which makes the egg drop an interesting
problem…
…I remember well the school steps that we covered in egg-spatter
…cool one to put on your ecs… :)

You basically have to build a contraption of limited size and weight that can prevent an egg from breaking when thrown from a third story window. The contraption that makes it to the ground the fastest while still protecting the egg wins.

Now I’m debating whether or not to put this on my app since so many people are questioning it. Any other input now that I have elaborated on it?

lol, it’s funny how schools do “unweighted” GPAs. My school calls its GPA system “a 4.0 system”, but my unweighted GPA is 5.041… I dont think my school understands. lol

the parallels with early space pod recovery and landing rovers on Mars are
obvious – rapid descent ont he target site and protection fo the contents
—the payload being of limited weight and size…
