No Hooks

To me, you seem fine. The only thing is, now a days, being Asian and having a family income the size of yours… you’re more like an anti-hook. They might be like “well gee, this guy has a good upbringing” and it may come across that maybe you’re just another “rich” kid with more opportunities than others. I agree with your reaches. If you have legacy at dartmouth, you’re pretty much in. They love legacy. Your matches are in fact good matches. William&Mary may be tough, though. They’re very selective. I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks, Dartmouth is my dream, I really agree with the school philosophy about Global Thinking etc. My GPA is biggest weak point, but its gone up every single year, it started off badly because in 9th grade and part of 10th I went to a magnet school even tho my focus was in Hum etc. So when i switched all of my grades went up for 10th grade and 11th grade my grade have been pretty decent.

OP
Your obvious weakness is your GPA. Your EC’s are excellent. Try to take the SAT one more time to improve your CR and then maybe take the ACT. If you don’t get accepted to Dartmouth ED, try Cornell.

@2018dad thank you for the advice, I plan on taking the ACT in September and SAT 1 in October, maybe the SAT 2 the next testing date (November) if I am confident I will get an 750+ on it. Thanks for the advice, I will look into Cornell.
