Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve been on college confidential! I am looking for chances for my little brother for NESCACs, particularly Middlebury. I am actually a Midd student myself (going into my junior year, yikes), but he has some very different factors from me and I wanted your guys’ thoughts.
His stats:
3.75 uwGPA
4.0 wGPA
Top tenth
1340 new SAT (650 math, 690 CR)
AP Calc AB, AP Bio, AP English (scores pending) (his school has very limited AP options)
Waiting on ACT and SAT subject tests
Extracurriculars:
Track and field- 5 years. He is being actively recruited by Middlebury and Williams track teams.
Cross Country- 6 years
Skiing- He is a top level freestyle skier with competitive finishes in nationals and junior olympics. He also has an international ranking
Job- He works as a kids coach in the summer and as a waiter year round.
Volunteer- He volunteers for the special olympics each year
Other:
We’re a white family from rural NY. I’m on full scholarship at Midd, if that gives you an idea of our income level.
What do you guys think? I know the grades and test scores are a bit low for Midd, but recruitment is a big bump right?
