Chances for NMF

So I am Semi-Finalist as of right now, only thing that I’m worried about is my GPA…3.50 UW, 4.21 W at a very competitive school taking the most rigorous curriculum offered each year (all As and Bs with one C, 2nd semester junior year).

I am in a very small and unrepresented state.

My best SAT is 700 Reading/770 Math/650 Writing (67 multiple choice, 8 essay).

I received AP scholar with distinction, ACT is 35 (which I realize is not considered), I have and hold a part-time job as a barista at a very unique specialty coffee shop, I do lawn care freelance, I have placed in multiple regional math competitions, and have volunteer work over the summer in addition to what is required by my school. Also played varsity soccer grades 7-12 and ran track grades 6-10.

I may be taking a job in web development soon, which leads me to my next question. I have taken online courses through Coursera and EdX, should I/how should I include these in my NMF application? One was in computer science (I passed AP Comp Sci A with a 5 due to this, didn’t take the class in school), the other was cryptography, from MIT and Stanford respectively; I passed both with As and can prove this.

My essay is very unique.

What are my chances from here? And what can I do in the time remaining to increase my chances (if anything)?

Thanks!

Those Coursera courses won’t be considered part of your HS transcripts or official college courses either. I am not especially familiar with the application so hopefully you can get that from additional replies. Your SAT is fine. I think your gpa is fine except for the C maybe, what was that in?

Even if you don’t get NMF, and it sounds like you will, you still have the great scores that will help you a lot.

You should be ok, even with the one C, but no one is sure.

If this is a competitive school then your GCs should have some experience with NMF and GPA cut offs. Ask them.
