Chances for Penn ED SEAS?

I am applying to Penn ED SEAS for with a 33 ACT and mediocre extracurriculars (NHS, Peer Leadership, Hospital Volunteering, etc.) I have a 4.3 W GPA. I grew up with:

 • a learning disability
 • hearing impairment
 • facial paralysis & disfigurement
 • & other medical difficulties

I also raised over $2000 in grants through my volunteering hours and donated it to an audiology department in a hospital i volunteered in because I, myself, am hearing impaired.

I wrote a really good essay about how I’ve overcame these difficulties, and how they have driven me to pursue biomedical engineering. Will this give me an edge over other highly qualified applicants despite my mediocre stats?

Interesting, may I ask what engineering major your applying for? Your ECs lead me to believe biomedical?

yep biomedical

I bet on admission! Good luck on Friday.
