I finished my junior year of high school. Here are my stats
3.33 GPA
1190 SAT Scores
I’m afraid that these two stats might not be enough for Penn State, but I am willing to do a summer session to get into the main campus. Also, when is the earliest I can apply? I want to do an Early Action when I apply to Penn State
Apply for summer session and DUS, and put a branch campus as a backup.
The application is available starting September 1. They have modified rolling admissions, and the priority deadline is November 30.
On the application, it’s gonna say that I should only put down summer session if it’s my first choice. How do I let the university know that I prefer starting in the fall but I’d be willing to start in the summer if I got placed there.
There should be an option for that. From their Applying on the Web Worksheet:
“Summer Session at University Park: If you select University Park as your starting campus, you also have the option to be considered for the six-week summer session, which begins in early July and ends in early August. If you select this option, we will first evaluate your application for the fall semester. If we are unable to offer you admission for the fall, your application will be evaluated for the summer session.”
You select Fall admit and then check the box that says you are willing to be considered for summer session. In this case, they will evaluate you for fall first, and only evaluate you for summer if you don’t get admitted for fall. If you apply directly ONLY to summer, then they don’t evaluate you for fall at all. So select fall, and check the summer box.
